It has been second largest off-shore islands. Positioned between the Third and Grand Bocas, Chacachacare is almost untouched by man and is also said that Chacachacare is one of the best kept secrets. It is the a diversity of history. Most notably, it is known as a leprosarium settlement, home of the plantation economy, a whaling station, site of the reinvasion of Venezuela and a US naval base.
A mix of activities awaits you at Chacachacare. There are tours to Salt water pond and the ruins of the Leprosarium. The particular flora and fauna is reflected in its dry, desert like environment with birds and xerophtic plants indigenous to the offshore islands only
