On 20th March 2015, the CDA officially launched of its new police headquarters in Macqueripe. Planning Minister Dr Bhoe Tewarie said, "Chaguaramas is the safest place in Trinidad and Tobago." The station is fully equipped with surveillance screens showing CCTV footage of various parts of the area and there is also a license plate recognition system, in which cars are monitored coming in and out of the area. This technology will help provide more security to the Chaguaramas area, the five offshore islands and the entire nation by making it possible for the police to have eyes everywhere.
The new Chaguaramas Police Headquarters is being used as a model for projects in other parts of the country, including Sangre Grande, Salibia, and the waterfront in San Fernando.
