The main road network in Chaguaramas consists of the single carriageway, the Western Main Road, which extends from Alcoa Bauxite terminal at the eastern entrance to the Peninsula to Scotland Bay and the Tucker Valley Road that extends from the Western Main Road in the South to Macqueripe Bay in the North.
A series of local access routes, including secondary and tertiary roads, form the minor road network. This system is 48 km in length and passes through the developed areas of the Peninsula.
The CDA is working assiduously with various State entities to improve the access into and out of the Peninsula. Discussions have centered on widening and/or providing an alternative road and improving the ferry links; particularly for
one-off large events.
